Recently, POSCO established the POSCO AX LAB, designed as the primary hub for AI research and deployment across the group.
Departing from conventional corporate office layouts, this project focused on building a futuristic smart workspace that simultaneously encourages seamless idea exchange and deep research focus.

The interior design language of POSCO AX LAB revolves around a clear spatial direction: an intelligent platform where technology, humanity, and space organically interconnect.

The defining highlight of the space is the large-scale curved modular workstation. Moving away from rigid, rectilinear arrangements, the fluid, organic desk configuration fosters natural eye contact and spontaneous communication among researchers.
Integrated indoor greenery at the center adds a touch of biophilic design, offering visual comfort within a data-intensive tech environment.

The ceiling design introduces a striking contrast that emphasizes vertical volume. While the perimeter features clean, minimalistic drop ceilings in dark and light tones, the central research zone utilizes an exposed ceiling paired with structured geometric linear lighting, projecting a spacious, modern, and open laboratory atmosphere. High-performance textured carpet tiles cover the floor, dampening ambient noise while delivering a refined, sophisticated finish.

Along the side, vibrant block-style modular stools create an accessible micro-lounge area.
This semi-informal zone encourages casual catch-ups, quick brainstorming sessions, or moments of relaxation throughout the workday.

The POSCO AX LAB project represents more than a spatial transformation—it is a tangible physical embodiment of POSCO’s AI innovation narrative, setting a new benchmark for futuristic research environments.
